The MaxiBAS BT609 is the top of Autel’s battery range: a seven inch Android tablet that handles battery and electrical system work and carries real diagnostic capability with it, working wirelessly rather than tethered to the battery clamps.
It tests 12V batteries from 100 to 3000 CCA, covering flooded, AGM, AGM Spiral, EFB and GEL, and reads the CCA, CA, SAE, EN, IEC, DIN, JIS and MCA standards. Adaptive Conductance gives you an accurate examination of cold cranking ability and reserve capacity, which is what actually determines a battery’s health, and it works on a battery that is already flat rather than sending you away to charge it first.
Alongside the battery test it covers the cranking and charging system, so a no-start is separated into battery, starter or generator before you quote for parts.
The BT609 pulls battery specifications from a barcode scan on the battery itself, or from automatic or manual VIN entry. That removes the step where somebody guesses the fitted battery’s rating and tests it against the wrong figure, which is the quiet way a good tester still produces a bad answer.
It reads and erases codes and views live data across all available systems, and runs maintenance services. Battery registration after a replacement is the obvious one for this tool, because on a start/stop or hybrid car a new battery that has not been registered will be charged as though it were the old one.

The BT608 is the touchscreen analyser with a built-in thermal printer, and it prints the result on the spot. The BT609 is the larger wireless tablet with AutoVIN and barcode identification and a broader diagnostic reach. If handing over a printed report matters most to you, ask us before ordering and we will confirm the current printing arrangement for the BT609 with Autel rather than guess at it here.
Both pair with the MaxiBAS BTAK kit, which adds a DM100 multimeter and a 400 amp current clamp for parasitic drain and circuit faults.
