Autel MaxiBAS BTAK Multimeter and Current Clamp Kit

Description

The BTAK kit turns a MaxiBAS BT608 or BT609 from a battery tester into an electrical fault finding tool. It is the accessory that answers the job that always follows a battery replacement: the car that keeps going flat with nothing obviously wrong with the battery.

What you get

• DM100 digital multimeter, measuring AC and DC voltage and current, resistance, diode and continuity
• 400 amp current clamp, measuring 20 mA to 400 A AC and DC
• Two multimeter test leads
• Two multimeter probes
• Two alligator clips

Why it works with the tester rather than alongside it

The DM100 pairs with the BT608 and BT609 so the readings appear on the tester itself, as digital values and as waveforms, rather than on a separate meter you have to hold in your other hand. That is what makes a parasitic drain test practical on your own: clamp the conductor, watch the trace on the tester, and pull fuses until the number drops.

The clamp measures by going round the conductor, with no direct contact and no breaking into the circuit, which is both quicker and safer on a live system. Effective range is 20 mA to 400 A, so it covers a genuine parasitic drain at the low end and starter current at the top.
